Use the lasso to select by each Gem or Cell’s center. A tap selects one item. Hold Shift while drawing to add to your selection. In wrench Edit Mode, drag any member or the Pod’s name to move the whole group. Ungroup to move a member independently; Esc cancels a drag. Saved Pods contain independent copies and relative positions.
Cell
Beat Cell
Numbers stay fixed when you filter. Next bar follows the shared four-beat clock. Stopped Cells load immediately.
Sampler Cell
Load an audio file or record a sample.
Record requests microphone permission. Recording stops after 20 seconds. Audio stays on this device; the microphone is never played through the speakers.
The waveform in the Cell shows live playback or microphone input while recording, and the full sample when idle.
Up to 20 seconds, mono or stereo; files up to 12 MB. Supported formats depend on your browser. Pitch changes playback speed. Save Project embeds the sample and its settings; opening a project stays silent. Microphone access may be unavailable in embedded previews—open the downloaded HTML in a browser. File loading works without microphone permission.
EDITOR
Draw toggles hits. Edit selects a hit for the controls below. Brighter hits are louder; × shows a roll. Audition plays this draft; Save & Close commits it.
Euclidean rhythm generator
Spread a chosen number of hits evenly across this bar. Replaces only the selected drum lane.
Your playing pattern stays intact until Save & Close.

The NeoMeoN Tome
Touch, listen, explore. The NeoMeoN Tome is your field guide to the instrument. Every picture below is a static reference illustration: it does not play, record, or change settings. Note colors follow the current key in the live instrument.
The language of NeoMeoN
Gem means Geometric Event Module: an individual touch-and-sound element. A Cell combines musical elements with its own behavior and controls. A Pod groups Gems and Cells for reuse and movement; each member keeps its own sound controls. A Soma is the complete active arrangement.
An Orb is a movable controller. Neome describes the surrounding environment; Void names its backdrop and empty-space sound behaviors. Node, Wire and Switch describe the broader design; this edition has no general wiring editor.
X49 · Aurora, Tide, Estuary & Nocturne
Aurora Gem · reference illustrationNew in X49
Aurora Gem
A new Sweep Gem preset: triangle waveform, 120 ms attack, 850 ms release, gentle moving low-pass filter and tempo-linked delay. Drag vertically through scale notes; release lets the orb return. Its wide shape favors slow phrases. Record its motion with Record loop. Find Aurora Gem in Library → Gems.
Tide Cell · reference illustrationNew in X49
Tide Cell
Two clocked rings interlock: the outer ring plays 3 pulses and the inner plays 5 pulses over four beats. The inner voice is an octave higher, four scale degrees above the outer. Tap the center to start/stop. Its + menu adjusts each ring from 1–9 pulses, cycle length (2/4/8/16 beats), root degree, inner degree offset, balance, waveform, delay and level. Both rings rejoin on the shared cycle. Changes apply to upcoming scheduled notes; no random acceleration. Find it in Library → Cells.
Estuary Pod · reference illustrationNew in X49
Estuary Pod
Two independent Aurora Gems frame one Tide Cell. Dawn and Dusk begin four scale degrees apart. Start Tide, then sweep Dawn and Dusk slowly against its rhythm. Lasso or select its name in Edit mode to move the whole Pod. Ungroup separates its members without removing them. Library → Pods → Estuary Pod adds a complete independent copy.
Nocturne Soma · reference illustrationNew in X49
Nocturne Soma
The fourth Soma: A Dorian, 84 BPM, Astro backdrop. Estuary sits above a large Radial Cell and an empty Sampler Cell. It begins silent; start Tide and play a slow Aurora phrase. The Sampler is ready for your own recording or upload. The Soma button cycles 01 → 02 → 03 → 04.

Keyboard Gems · reference illustration
Keyboard Gems
Each key has three registers: low at the bottom, middle in the center, high at the top. Each finger gets an independent voice. Slide between registers for a short glide. The Key menu transposes notes and changes the scale.
Sweep Gems · reference illustration
Sweep Gems
Drag the orb vertically through a scale. Different Gems begin on different scale degrees. + opens waveform, envelope, snap-back and effects. Snap-back is a return behavior, not clock sync.
Hit Gems · reference illustration
Hit Gems
Tap a colored symbol for a short note. These are live taps, distinct from the recorded gesture loops in Loop Station.
Drone / latch Gems · reference illustration
Drone / latch Gems
Tap once to hold a note, then tap again to release it. Several can form a sustained chord. Power stops held and repeating sounds.
Tricell / Trigem · reference illustration
Tricell / Trigem
Drag among three colored vertices to blend their notes. Its + menu adjusts waveform, envelope and effects. The original Tricell supports gesture-loop capture.
Radial Cell · reference illustration
Radial Cell
Angle selects a scale note; distance from the center shapes its level. Move the orb across sectors. The original Radial Cell supports gesture-loop capture.
Pong Cell · reference illustration
Pong Cell
A glowing ball turns wall collisions into notes. Tap its center Play/Pause control; grab and flick the ball to throw. A catch holds it still. Free timing loses energy gradually; Beat snap aligns collisions to a selected note rate. The + menu controls speed, spin, gravity, longevity, timing, sound and delay. Reset returns the ball and clears its echo. Motion is not automatically resumed when loading a project.
Beat Cell · reference illustration
Beat Cell
Tap the center to start or stop its drum pattern. + opens categorized, numbered presets, previous/next controls and immediate/next-bar switching. Edit Beat opens seven drum lanes, 1–4 bars, straight/triplet grids, swing and three kits. Select a hit to edit velocity, probability, roll count or timing. Copy/paste, shift, humanize and Euclidean generation vary patterns. Audition, Undo and Cancel let you try edits before Save & Close.
Percussion Cell · reference illustration
Percussion Cell
Tap to repeat the percussion pattern. Its + menu groups numbered presets by style, with previous/next and next-bar switching. Edit Perc opens the percussion pattern editor. Save & Close commits the pattern.
ArpCell · reference illustration
ArpCell
Repeats a sequence of scale degrees. Change rate and waveform in its controls; the original ArpCell has Edit Arp for note sequence editing. Notes follow the Soma’s key and scale. Added library copies retain their own sequence and rate.
Sampler Cell · reference illustration
Sampler Cell
+ offers audio upload or microphone recording. Microphone access is requested only when you choose Record mic. The browser must permit it; upload remains available if permission or recording is unavailable. The waveform shows the sample, and a live trace shows recording/playback. Set trim points, reverse, pitch/speed, one-shot/loop and free/beat/bar start timing. Samples are included in project and library exports.
Orb · reference illustration
Orb
A translucent touch controller. Dragging changes the associated musical value. Its behavior depends on the instrument: a Sweep slides vertically, Radial moves in a circle, and Pong can be caught and thrown.
Pod · reference illustration
Pod
A named selection of Gems and Cells. Group with the lasso, move together in Edit, save to Library for reuse, and Ungroup to edit members independently. Grouping is organizational; it does not merge audio into one mixer channel.
Void / Neome · reference illustration
Void / Neome
Black, White, Bio, Astro and Photon are backdrop choices. They remain behind the instrument and are remembered per Soma. Bloom adds reverb from empty-space touches; Gate mutes the mix while empty space is held; Off disables those interactions. Freeze echo holds an existing shared delay. Power clears the freeze.

Record loop · bottom strip
Records repeating touch phrases from the original Keyboard, Tricell, Radial and Sweep Gems, including Aurora. Choose 1/2/4/8 bars and an Off/4/8-beat count-in in ∞ Loops. Tap Record loop, wait for the count and play; the phrase repeats automatically. Another take replaces only the pads you play. Empty/cancelled takes keep earlier loops. Undo loop restores the last take or cleared clip.

Record audio · top toolbar
Captures the full stereo performance with effects as an audio file. Press again to stop, then download the take from Settings. The take is separate from the editable .neomeon project. Browser recording or WAV export is available where supported; WAV conversion does not improve source quality.
Loop mixer: each recorded clip has level, Mute, Solo and Clear. These levels do not change live playing levels. The Repeating Cells section has separate playback and level controls for Beat, Percussion, Arp, Pong, Tide and samples. Pausing touch loops leaves these Cells running.
The metronome can click for count-in, recording, continuously, or remain silent. It is excluded from the stereo export; a microphone can still hear speakers. Hiding the page, changing tempo or powering off cancels an unfinished loop take. Additional Radial/Tricell copies are playable but are not gesture-loop capture targets in this version.
Toolbar, Focus & portrait playingToolbar symbols · reference only
Aa shows or hides labels under toolbar icons; Audio REC remains labeled. Focus puts away the toolbar for more room; Controls brings it back. Every large menu has a red Collapse button. Press its toolbar button again, tap outside, or press Esc to dismiss it. Playback continues.
Portrait Pads presents one enlarged instrument with a selector above and a + Controls button below. Keyboard register rows expand vertically. Hit and drone notes use large touch tiles. Full Soma restores the overview; Pads brings back the large view. Edit always shows the whole arrangement. Landscape uses the full Soma. Fit centers the entire visible layout; Fill width and custom zoom can use scrolling.
Power stops sound. Tempo sets the shared clock. Mixer adjusts sources and master level; ƒx opens shared effects. Key retunes melodies. Library contains reusable items; the book opens this Tome; the wrench edits layouts; Settings contains detailed controls and audio downloads; the floppy disk opens Projects.
Library, layout editing & Undo
Browse miniatures in Library → All / Gems / Cells / Pods, or search by name. Drag a card onto the Soma, or use Add. Each copy has independent settings. The lasso selects items whose centers fall inside its loop; Shift adds to a selection. Group as Pod names the selection. Save Pod stores relative positions and sounds.
In Edit, drag a Gem or Cell to move it. Drag a Sweep’s lower-right handle to resize; original groups use their existing resize handles. Drag any Pod member or its name to move the Pod as one unit. Resize the Pod using its lower-right arrow handle: drag diagonally to scale every member and the spacing together. It stops at member-size or workspace limits. Focus the handle and use arrow keys for 5% steps. Esc cancels a drag; Undo restores the whole resize. Ungroup beside the Pod name or in the editing bar separates the members while keeping their positions.
Undo / Redo in the editing bar covers moving, resizing, adding, deleting and grouping. Ctrl / ⌘ Z undoes; Ctrl / ⌘ Shift Z or Ctrl Y redoes. Each Soma keeps up to 30 layout actions in this tab. Esc cancels a drag. A new edit clears the redo branch. Opening a project resets layout history; history is not stored in .neomeon files. This is separate from Undo loop and effect-variation Undo.
Use a Gem’s Library controls or a dropped Cell’s + menu to save or remove it. The Soma supports 32 Sweep Gems and 16 additional Cells; the saved library holds 64 entries. Export Library makes a portable .neogems backup, including samples inside saved Cells and Pods.
Sound & + controls
Waveform: sine is smooth, triangle softly bright, sawtooth richer, square hollow. Attack / Release control how notes begin and fade. Sustain latches supported instruments after release. Snap back returns an orb and is different from Pong’s Beat snap.
Delay follows the shared tempo. Shared delay timing, feedback and wet level live in ƒx; Pong also offers its own delay controls. The original sources and Sweep Gems offer bitcrusher, fuzz and a moving filter. Enable an effect to hear its controls. Randomize changes selected, unlocked sound parameters; optional pattern variation requires its checkbox. Undo there restores the last sound variation. Additional Cells expose their supported controls in their own + menu.
Autosave, projects & backups
The toolbar status shows Unsaved changes, Saving…, or an Autosaved time after a browser recovery copy succeeds. If storage is unavailable or a write fails, it says so. Opening menus alone does not count as a musical edit. Click the status or floppy disk for Projects.
Save Project downloads an editable .neomeon file with all Somas, settings, layouts, loops and samples. A download-start message does not guarantee that your browser saved the file; check its downloads. Open Project loads silently. Resume Saved Parts restarts supported saved repeating parts; start added Cells yourself.
Autosave belongs to this browser and can be cleared. It is a recovery copy, not a portable backup. A previous recovery copy is offered rather than automatically replacing your screen. Use Restore to recover it. Library entries and stereo recordings have their own exports. Download an audio take before making another or closing the page.
If something feels wrong
No sound? Touch a musical pad to start audio; after Power off, press Power first. Check device and master levels, loop mute/solo and Void Gate. Controls missing? Exit Edit, choose Fit or Full Soma, and open the relevant + menu. Timing interrupted? Keep the page visible and device awake. Microphone unavailable? Use upload, or a browser context that supports microphone permission. Unexpected changes? Use layout Undo for geometry, Undo loop for captured takes, or Restore/Open Project for a saved setup.

THE VOID
Bio · green / yellow / orange Astro · black / purple / yellow Photon · red / blue / green Each Soma remembers its choice.
Bloom: tap empty space or slide off a pad to swell the whole mix into a short reverb trail.
Gate: hold empty space to silence the mix. Lift every gating finger to release it; the rhythm keeps running.
Pad areas and their controls are protected. Only musical touches enter the Void; it stays off during layout editing.
Enable a pad’s DLY, play a phrase, then freeze its echo. Stop clears it.
GHOST LOOPER
Choose a section. Recording starts on the next bar, then loops automatically.
Record held movements and lifts. One loop per section; other sections keep playing. Record again to replace a loop. Undo restores its previous take. Rebound motion after lifting is not recorded in this first version.
Mute and Solo affect the selected section’s recorded loop; live pads stay playable.
Keep this tab visible and leave tempo unchanged during a take. Save Project includes loops; use Play Loops after reopening.

Pod controls
Make room for music.
1. Open a cell. Use the Soma cards or the scrolling instrument strip. Your first musical touch unlocks sound.
2. Build a layer. Tap Start on Beat, Percussion, Arp or Pong. Switch to another cell; the layer continues.
3. Play the keyboard. Each column is a note. Slide up through three registers; use multiple fingers for chords.
4. Make a loop. Open ∞ Loops, choose 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars and a count-in, then tap Record. Play after the count; the take repeats automatically. Change cells during a take to capture several parts. Each cell has one loop; re-recording it replaces that loop, with Undo available.
Sweep Pod. All eight sweep pads share one screen: a single row in landscape, two rows in portrait. Play several pads at once or glide between them. Controls lets you edit each pad separately; Record loop captures the pads you play.
5. Play two cells. On a cell screen, Pair adds a keyboard beside it. From Keyboard, Pair adds Beat. Rotate your phone to landscape for more room.
6. Keep your work. Session → Save / open project saves .neomeon files. The red circle records audio; stop it to download a take.
Choose a Soma from the Soma button. Original, Prism, Orbit and Nocturne keep separate setups. Collection adds Aurora, Tide or a complete Estuary Pod. Save Project includes all four Somas. The mobile layout arranges instruments automatically; desktop geometry stays in the project. Screen switching is supported while the app is visible; locking your phone or switching apps can interrupt playback.
